New accessories

Yesterday i went to buy shoe rock to put at the back row so that those hamster tank that are at the back will be lifted higher thus i can view all hamsters in one go.Today i went to buy sand bath,water bottle holder,and ham heads for those hamsters who do not have their own yet.

The picture on the left actually shows how i have laid out my hamsters tank.



This is a sample of how my tank set up looks like after the addition..i feel its a bit crampy..wonder how to improvise..

Today is the day where all my hamsters except for celest will be moving to their own individual homes.




Now they shall have their own one room flat!haha..not to mention that they will have their own wheels as well!!

Riben Pregnant??

Today was the day i washed and clean Ah toot and Riben Cage and Celest Tank.I just use hot running water to clean their tank as i am worried that the soap i use will be eaten by the hamsters,just to play safe.After washing and cleaning up their homes,i proceed to weigh them to see if any of them might be sick.

Oh my god!What happen??!!How did Riben manage to put on so much weight just in a few days time??!!Don't tell me she is pregnant??Haha,i am going to be a grandfather soon!!

Riben actually put on a weight of 3g!!Feel abit sad though,my wife say she drop celest from the table..So worried that Celest might break her bones..

Celest better

Celest is coming out to eat quite often now,sometimes even during the day.She seems to like the new mixes more as she always eat that first.Ah toot is always chasing Riben around the cage,could they be mating?

I saw Celest drinking water myself so i am confirm that she is recovering well.I decided to go ahead and change A.R cages.Did a complete cleaning,but some of the bedding was kept to preserve the hamsters scent.Did some weighing for the 3 hamsters

Base on their weight,i can see that they are putting on weight even though its not alot but i am sure that it means that they are quite happy right?

Celest Drinking!!

In the morning,i saw celest running on wheels and when i was going to work,she was still running on her wheels.She seems to be quite normal to me.Can see her running to sand and food dish.around 11am,my wife called and told me that she saw Celest drinking!!I finally heave a sigh of relief as the emergency period is finally over!!

Celest Grooming

Finally,I can see Celest coming out to roll around the sand and started grooming herself.In the morning,i can see Celest running round the cage collecting bedding for her house,she seems very energetic to me.Celest was also running on her wheel for a short while,i did notice that the water level in the water bottle drop but not sure if it was due to evaporation or Celest drinking as no one saw her approaching the water at all.

Went to buy Emotion Sensitive,Emotion Beauty,Fine multi-grain,fangureek seed and bran oat.All these were mixed together with Vitacraft Menu.Turn out to be a very big container of food!!Have to put it in freezer as i am worried that bugs might grow.Food was introduce to C.A.R.Saw Celest going to food dish immediatly after putting it in her food dish,can see her running about sometimes hiding under the bedding.but no signs of her drinking water.

Fed her a small piece of apple(read from web that when hamsters eat fruits or vege they will absorb water from it)force feed her medicine again and due to my wife being worried that Celest was not drinking,i force 2ml of water down Celest throat in small amounts.did some weighing for the 3 hamsters.

Ah toot placed in blue container to eat apple and their sand was replaced.

I see that Celest cage was too small for her so i went down to a aquarium shop to buy a 2ft fish tank for her.After the transfer,can see Celest was very excited about her new house.she will come out to play wheel for awhile,occasionally going to the food dish even though she is not eating.
I placed some sunflower seed right outside her house,and after about 10 mins,Celest came out and bring the seed in to eat!!i gave her 2 more so she wun be too hungry.6pm,Bernice bring Celest to auntie house for about 20mins after which i bring Celest home as she is still recovering.When Celest is home,i realise she drop some seeds in the container.She must be hiding them in her cheek pouch.Force her to drink her medicine again

Animal Doctor

Celest still found not touching the food and drink at all,there was no sign of any activity at all in fact.Was very worried about her so decided to bring her to the animal doctor vet at amk.Wife was saying that Celest is eating just that we din see,but i decided to go ahead.

She was attended to by Dr Cathy Chan who specialise in small animals care,she was very good.She was very gentle with Celest and to my relief,she told us that she found Celest to be quite active and good and the only thing not right with Celest was one of her bottom teeth which was found to be loose.Dr Cathy went on to say that it could be the reason why Celest was not eating.She prescribe 3 medicine for her which were the Critical Care(Food Supplement),Antibiotics and Vitamins.

When i went back,i have to force Celest to drink the medicine as she did not like the feeling of being hold.After which,i let her go back to sleep.

Cleaning Of Cages

C.A.R cages were washed and clean thoroughly,i actually spent close to 3 hours just dismantling and assembling back A.R cages which was a 3 tier cage.

The Bathing sand(i was told by petmart it was good to discover that actually scented sand is not good for hamsters.)Comes with a mint smell..It was replaced for both cages to let the hamsters enjoy their bath.

Celest still did not come out to eat,drink or play since the day that my daughter and maid played with her.Is she too exhausted?I know she is definitely not eating as the food was still nicely in the dish bowl(very light,easily topple.)and there was no signs of food scattering around.Beginning to be worried about her.

Bernice and my maid Guby played with my celest for 3 Hours!Poor Celest was so tired that she stayed inside her house and never came out

Hamster Home!

This was the day that me and my daughter Bernice went down to the Spca and adopted C.A.R.They are three hamsters by the name of Celest,Ah toot and Riben!Even though it took quite some time at the Spca to register but i think it was well worth it!We went down to serangoon north after listening to a lady taxi driver advice that serangoon north is better to get the cages and stuff.After some deliberating,i bought 2 cages,1 for riben and ah toot,the other for celest as celest is 5 months old and the other 2 is only 1 month old.worried that they might fight.Vitacraft Menu was introduce to them.
